Former Britpop group SHED SEVEN have announced they are finally splitting up after one final "retrospective" tour.
The group's fortunes have waned since they were dropped from POLYDOR RECORDS following their 1998 album LET IT RIDE, after scoring several hits in the mid-nineties Britpop boom.
Frontman RICK WITTER blamed the music industry for the demise of the group, who formed in 1991.
He said in a statement on the band's website, "We feel that certain aspects of the music industry have put a strain on the recording side of things in recent years."
However, Witter hopes the SPEAKEASY stars will say thankyou to their loyal fans with their final tour.
He says, "The one thing that has remained consistent throughout has been the bands love of performing live and their ability to please the fans by giving 100 per cent every time."
