AMERICAN IDOL - SEACREST BLAMES BUSY SCHEDULE FOR HATCHER SPLIT

AMERICAN IDOL host RYAN SEACREST has blamed his busy schedule and excessive media attention for the swift end to his romance with TERI HATCHER. The TV/radio presenter, 31, and Hatcher, 41, were photographed kissing on a Malibu, California, beach in March (06). However, the romance was quickly over with the DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES actress telling OPRAH WINFREY, "I haven't seen him since that day. We knew that the (pictures) had been taken, which must have bothered him enough. An hour after he dropped me off, he called to say, 'I don't think I can do this with you.'" In an interview with the New York Times, Seacrest explains it was his fault the dates ended, but he is too busy with American Idol, hosting on the E! TV network and his radio shows to be in a relationship. He says, "She's clever. She's self-deprecating. She's successful. She can pay for dinner. "What's wrong? It is strange, but I don't think it was a Teri Hatcher issue. It's a Ryan Seacrest issue."
