SUSAN SARANDON - SARANDON'S SIMPLE BEAUTY ADVICE: 'DON'T SMOKE OR SUNBATHE'

Birthday girl SUSAN SARANDON has the simplest advice for young girls who want to look as good as she does at 58 - don't smoke and stay out of the sun.

The actress, who recently signed a lucrative REVLON deal and is considered by many to be among the sexiest stars in Hollywood, admits her perfect skin and youthful looks come from the things she didn't do in her youth, rather from the things she did do.

She explains, "Don't smoke. That's what I keep saying to every kid that asks me. That really helps keep you hydrated. You really shouldn't smoke.

"And I was always too bored to lie in the sun for very long, so that saved me. I didn't go that route. That can be damaging, we don't have any ozone layer."

Sarandon also credits her kids for helping her stay youthful: "Mentally, my kids do that for me by keeping me alive in terms of music and transient things that I would never know about.

"I think your kids have a lot to bring to your life as they get older."
