OPEN WATER - RYAN'S SUNBURN HELL ON OPEN WATER SET

OPEN WATER star BLANCHARD RYAN spent so much time swimming during the making of the low-budget shark thriller, she suffered continuous sunburn.

Ryan stars as a female diver who finds herself stranded with her husband DANIEL TRAVIS in the middle of a shark-infested ocean.

And the 37-year-old found the rigours of being submerged in water meant her skin would always peel off following ten hours of filming in the sun each day.

Ryan says, "Dan and I would go out at night to eat, sunburned from the neck up - completely red - and then the rest of us white and shriveled.

"We'd be so exhausted and we'd fall asleep with our heads on the table and not say a word to each other."
