American rap rocker KID ROCK has split from his publisher, because he wants a partner company focused on music rather than money.
The DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE star, who has fulfilled his contractual obligations to WARNER TAMERLANE, accuses the company of being more interested in share prices than creativity.
Rock says, "We've had a great run, and we'll miss many of the individuals at Warner's publishing company. We wish them all the best."
The 34-year-old, who is still contracted for three further albums with Warner, adds, "Labels like ATLANTIC and WARNER CHAPPELL aren't the great music labels they used to be. They're just businesses now.
"I've been fortunate to make a lot of money and to have a great fan base, so now my focus is on just making music."
