ROBBIE ROBERTSON - ROBERTSON PLANS BAND'S FINEST

Rocker ROBBIE ROBERTSON is putting the finishing touches to a definitive collection of THE BAND recordings.

The singer has spent years tracking down rare and obscure tracks to complete a five-CD box set he hopes to release later this year (04).

He says, "I've never really liked what was done in the past."

Robertson admits that some of the recordings he's come across in recent months, he has never heard before.

He adds, "On some of it, the quality is very poor, but there's also some very funny things."
