Pop superstar ROBBIE WILLIAMS is desperate to become a director of British soccer club PORT VALE, who he's supported his whole life.

The FEEL singer made his desires known when he was accused by Port Vale of switching his allegiances, after paying $16 million (GBP10 million) for a private box at Premiership club CHELSEA in London.

Soccer-mad Robbie says the box is just a gift for his management, and he will always remain loyal to his boyhood team, based in Stoke-On-Trent, central England.

The 29-year-old says, "I would love to be a director of Vale. I would have to be based in Stoke-On-Trent for that role and, yes, I would do that.

"I've been a Port Vale fan all my life."
