Actress MIRANDA OTTO enjoyed one major advantage over her THE LORD OF THE RINGS co-stars - she didn't have to spend hours sitting in the make-up chair.

The 37-year-old Australian star largely managed to escape the dreaded dressing room playing EOMER while her colleagues on PETER JACKSON's trilogy were forced to undergo hours of mind-numbing body transformation.

Otto says, "I was very happy with the role I had on Rings - I spent hardly any time in make-up, where a lot of people were there ages with ears and feet and stuff.

"Poor JOHN RHYS-DAVIES was there for four or five hours. I like to change looks but if I had a favourite look it would be something like Lord Of The Rings."
