Singer-songwriter and actor JOHNATHAN RICE has turned down numerous Hollywood roles off the back of his movie debut in WALK THE LINE, because he doesn't want to become typecast.
The 22-year-old accepted his part as ROY ORBINSON in the JOHNNY CASH biopic so he could work with his icon, music producer T-BONE BURNETT.
And Rice is determined to choose his follow-up role carefully.
He explains, "Hollywood is so unimaginative that you get offers, not based on your ability, but on the fact that you are connected to this other film.
"The attraction isn't lost on me but I think there is a lot of karma involved with this way of life.
"I've been riding a pretty incredible stream of luck since I was 17 and I think it would extremely irresponsible of me to throw it all away now."
