VANESSA REDGRAVE - REDGRAVE REKINDLES ROMANCE WITH NERO

Veteran actress VANESSA REDGRAVE has rekindled her romance with film star FRANCO NERO, the father of her son, 36 years after they split. The Hollywood pair had a high-profile relationship after meeting on the set of CAMELOT in 1967 - the same year the Oscar-winner divorced her first husband, film director TONY RICHARDSON. But their partnership ended soon after the birth of their son CARLOS in 1969, and the HOWARDS END actress went on to date JAMES BOND star TIMOTHY DALTON - a partnership that lasted 14 years. But the 69-year-old star has now rekindled her romance with Nero, star of DIE HARD 2, insisting she can't imagine spending the rest of her life with anyone else. She says, "I can't tell you exactly when we got back together. It's grown and grown over the years. "I adore my boy's father, my Franco. Getting back together, there's that bonus of discovering that I was right to fall in love with him in the first place. "I now consider him my partner, I'm not on the lookout for anyone else. Redgrave admits the relationship is fairly open, insisting Nero is free to have "whatever relationships he wants, or not, as the case may be", and denies any plans to tie the knot. She says, "I think Franco and I will go on sharing our lives. We might recognise that commitment in some way, we might not. "I certainly don't have the temperament required to make a lasting marriage."
