LATEST: Soul legend LOU RAWLS will be remembered at a funeral service in Los Angeles later today (13JAN06), which will be officiated by REVD JESSE JACKSON.

The smooth singer lost his battle with lung cancer on 6 January (06) at the age of 72.

Fans of Rawls were able to pay their last respects at a public viewing in Los Angeles yesterday (12JAN06). Thousands came out to say goodbye.
