Beloved American TV star TONY RANDALL is recovering in hospital after developing pneumonia after bypass surgery in December (03).

The 83-year-old star of 1970s TV hit THE ODD COUPLE was hospitalised at Christmas (03) after starring in play revival RIGHT YOU ARE.

Doctors decided it would be better for Randall to recover in hospital rather than at home, where he has two young children.
