JOHNNY RAMONE - RAMONE TO BE HONOURED WITH CEMETERY STATUE

Late punk icon JOHNNY RAMONE is to be honoured with a new statue at Los Angeles' famous Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

The RAMONES star's widow LINDA has arranged for the tribute to be unveiled during a public ceremony on 14 January (05).

The monument will be located not far from where bandmate DEE DEE RAMONE is buried.

During the ceremony, Johnny's closest friends will speak at his graveside.

Ramone's bronze statue, created by artist WAYNE TOTH, will capture Johnny in his most memorable image - playing his Mosrite guitar.

Ramone died in September (04) at his home in Los Angeles.
