The culture-clash drama Quinceañera, written and directed by Wash Westmoreland and Richard Glatzer, won the Sundance film festival's jury prize and audience award for U.S. dramatic films over the weekend, while Christopher Quinn's God Grew Tired of Us won the jury and audience awards in the documentary category. Dito Montiel won the directing award in the drama category for A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. The film, starring Robert Downey Jr., Rosario Dawson, Dianne Wiest, Chazz Palminteri, Shia La Boeuf and Channing Tatum, also received a special jury prize for best ensemble performance. Writer-director Hilary Brougher received the Waldo Salt Award for screenwriting for Stephanie Daley. (The Sundance film that received the most buzz, Little Miss Sunshine, was not placed in the festival's competition section.)
