British royal PRINCE HARRY has allegedly rejected a future career in the army - because he wants to become a Patron Of The Arts instead.

Harry starts training at Britain's Sandhurst Military Academy next month (MAY05), but he's decided against a long-term career in the forces, so has asked his father PRINCE CHARLES to find him a position within THE PRINCE'S TRUST charity organisation when he leaves the academy, reports British newspaper the MAIL ON SUNDAY.

The 20-year-old reportedly told the royal family he wants to help budding young artists, and already has plans to set up a new scholarship system.

A royal insider says, "Harry has asked his father to let him become more involved in The Princes Trust.

"He's not sure how long he will be able to put up with the Army's strict rules and is thinking about what else he might like to do as a career.

"Art was his favourite subject. While it wouldn't be acceptable for him to become an artist, it would be an option for him to encourage others and help with fundraising."

The news comes just days after the prince failed a basic computer test at Sandhurst.
