Priceless guitars played by THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES and THE WHO were rescued from a fire at London's Hard Rock Cafe last night (09JUL05).

The restaurant - famous for it's huge collection of rock and pop memorabilia - went up in flames early yesterday evening.

Dozens of tourists were evacuated safely, as more than 30 firefighters battled the blaze at the seven-storey building in the heart of the British capital.

Among the rescued memorabilia were the favourite guitars of Rolling Stone KEITH RICHARDS, The Who legend PETE TOWNSEND and late Beatle GEORGE HARRISON.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson says, "Some of the guitars may have been smoke damaged and could need some restoration."
