Former TV president DENNIS HAYSBERT is set for a shock return to hit drama 24.

Fans of the show thought they'd seen the last of the actor's beloved character PRESIDENT DAVID PALMER when he opted not to seek re-election at the end of the show's last season.

But Haysbert will return to his GOLDEN GLOBE-nominated role later this season. No details about his storyline have been released.
