Hollywood actress GWYNETH PALTROW has vowed to only work on films that interest her, even if it means giving up her celebrity lifestyle.

The London-based star - who won an OSCAR for her performance in SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE - admits she's been less than discerning in her film choices.

But since the death of her father BRUCE PALTROW in late 2002 and her marriage to COLDPLAY's CHRIS MARTIN last year (DEC03), pregnant Gwyneth is determined not to sell herself short.

The 31-year-old says, "I worked so much in my twenties and I really burnt the candle at both ends. I wasn't too picky about what I did, and I was lucky that I did some really good films, but I also did some really rubbish films.

"I think part of the downside about being so successful and winning the Oscar at the age of 26 is that I sort of became insouciant about the things that I chose.

"I thought, 'Oh, I'll just be try this, it'll be fun, or I'll do that for the money.' Things that now I would absolutely never do.

"I think the combination of losing my father, turning 30, taking a year off and doing a play here in London has really shifted everything.

"I don't want to work so much. I wanna do things that are worth my time, and if it's just doing small films like SYLVIA then I'll get a smaller flat and take the Tube more.

"I'll change my lifestyle as opposed to selling out and doing something that makes me feel horrible about myself as a person."
