SYDNEY POLLACK will never get involved in another remake project after directing the critically savaged SABRINA.

The EYES WIDE SHUT star was reluctant to remake the 1954 BILLY WILDER classic from the beginning, but was persuaded to give it a go when HARRISON FORD called him direct.

Pollack says, "I got bit bad by the remake I did. That was the dumbest thing I ever did in my life, probably.

"I kept saying no to the picture... They said, 'We got Harrison Ford,' and I said, 'He's not Sabrina.'

"Finally Harrison, who I did know and I was a big admirer of... he called and said, 'Come on, let's do it. What's the worst thing that'll happen?'

"Now, remakes to me - I'm allergic."
