WOLFGANG PETERSEN - PETERSEN SLAMS POSEIDON ORIGINAL

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

POSEIDON director WOLFGANG PETERSEN has slammed the original THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE as "terribly over-acted". The German film-maker insists his latest blockbuster - starring KURT RUSSELL and RICHARD DREYFUSS - is not a remake of the 1972 RONALD NEAME disaster movie, but has simply been inspired by the original. Petersen says, "It's not really a remake. I don't want to make fun of this (Poseidon Adventure) movie. It was fun the first time I saw it, but it's a bit outdated now. "It was terribly over-acted. That campish, Hollywood style."
