PAMELA ANDERSON's naked image will soon grace billboards all over China in a new anti-fur campaign - as long as she can get past censors.

The posters, featuring the slogan "Give fur the cold shoulder" in English, show the busty 37-year-old beauty topless with her back to the camera and an arm partly hiding her right breast.

An image of falling snow appears above Chinese characters reading "cold shoulders are nothing compared to the pain they feel" and "please don't wear fur".

But China's media regulators have yet to approve the posters, says JASON BAKER, a spokesman for the campaign's promoters, PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS (PETA).

He says, "Depending on the censors, they may be concerned about it, but it's very tastefully done. We may end up having to crop (the photo) a bit."

Anderson says in a statement, "I'm perfectly happy to bare my skin if it will help save animals' skins."

China was the origin of 40 per cent of all American fur imports in 2000, according to PETA.
