GWYNETH PALTROW - PALTROW AND MARTIN RETURN TO LONDON AFTER RELAXING BREAK

OSCAR-winning actress GWYNETH PALTROW and husband CHRIS MARTIN returned to London last week (ends13AUG04), after escaping the city's paparazzi with a trip to New York's posh Hamptons area.

Paltrow, Martin and their baby daughter APPLE were staying in an East Hampton cottage owned by family friend STEVEN SPIELBERG, while COLDPLAY frontman Martin shuttled back and forth to Manhattan to record a new album.

Paltrow says, "It's the last place we have where we are not bothered by photographers."

Health-conscious Paltrow, 30 - one of the few mothers in the Hamptons without a nanny in tow - enjoyed yoga classes in East Hampton's OM YOGA, stopped by organic cafe BABETTE'S for soy milk smoothies and tofu, and shopped at children's accessory store RUMRUNNER KID during her trip.

The family left the home on Wednesday (11AUG04) to return to their new $4.5 million (GBP2.5 million) home in North London's posh Belsize Park.
