Actor CLIVE OWEN is echoing SIN CITY creator FRANK MILLER in rubbishing fears the comic book thriller is too violent - he insists the movie is too full of humour for the brutality to be taken seriously.

Miller recently told a press conference at France's CANNES FILM FESTIVAL the violence in Sin City should not be a cause for concern despite fears cinema-goers can be influenced by onscreen imagery, and the British hunk shares his view.

He tells British magazine COSMOPOLITAN, "The violence isn't an issue because it's so theatrical. It's so full of humour.

"You can't relate the film's violence to anything you see in everyday life because it's so heightened and stylised.

"It's at it's funniest when it's at its most awful."
