OUTKAST - OUTKAST'S TRIBUTE TO PARKS

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

American hip-hop duo OUTKAST are planning a tribute show for late civil rights icon ROSA PARKS.

The pair, ANDRE '3000' BENJAMIN and BIG BOI, want to mark the impact Parks had on highlighting racial issues in America until her death last year (05).

Outkast's manager BLUE WILLIAMS reveals, "We're trying to do a tribute special for her and get a lot of entertainers involved. Then turn the special into a DVD we can put in the schools and let teachers have it to show kids.

"It'll be performances, people speaking on there, a history montage. A nice special especially for people who don't know what she did."

Outkast also hope the tribute will appease conflict they had with Parks before her death - she sued them after they recorded a song in her name.

Williams adds, "I thought it would be a great way to show we always had good intentions. It was my idea to figure out how we could ensure that everyone always understood we always had good intentions towards Ms Parks."
