SHARON OSBOURNE - OSBOURNE TO AUCTION JEWELLERY FOR CANCER VICTIMS

Rock matriarch SHARON OSBOURNE is considering selling all of her jewellery and donating proceeds to her colon cancer foundation, to prevent a repeat of her $3.6 million (GBP2 million) burglary last month (23NOV04).

Osbourne was devastated when two intruders broke into her mansion in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, and stole her wedding rings and a sapphire band celebrating her successful battle with colon cancer.

She hopes that by publicly auctioning off the rest of her gems, future burglars will be deterred from breaking into her home. The sale will also enable Osbourne to help sufferers of the disease which almost killed her last year (03).

She explains, "I'm thinking about putting all our jewellery up for auction and giving the proceeds to my colon cancer foundation. Then there's nothing to take, is there?

"I loved that jewellery. I've had the luxury of owning it and looking at it every day made me happy, but now it doesn't. Is it worth wearing a ring that's going to jeopardise the life of one of the family?
