ASHLEY OLSEN - OLSEN TWINS FORCED TO SWITCH BIRTHDAY PLANS

Twin actresses MARY-KATE and ASHLEY OLSEN were forced to change their 18th birthday celebrations at the last minute, after details of their plans were leaked to the media.

The pair made their transition into adulthood on 13 June (03) and ended up telling the press they were going to spend their big day in Mexico, when they had actually planned to spend the day poolside at the plush BEVERLY HILLS HOTEL.

But when news got out, America's PEOPLE magazine reports the sisters fled to a private home with their family and a few of their close friends.

Among the millionaire teens' gifts were cashmere sweaters worth $420 (GBP233) each and $450 (GBP250) necklaces from their favourite Los Angeles store, INTUITION. They also received the new UGG handbags worth $250 (GBP138) - which won't be available to the public for another two months.
