ROB COHEN - O'CONNOR THREATENS LEGAL ACTION OVER BOGUS STORY

Irish singer SINEAD O'CONNOR has threatened websites and publications who distribute a photograph purportedly showing her smoking a cigarette while pregnant with legal action. The snap was taken in March (06) when the NOTHING COMPARES 2 U singer was walking down a New York City street with a male companion. A cigarette can be clearly seen in her hand, but it is unclear whether an apparent ripple in her jumper is proof she is pregnant. O'Connor's lawyer ROB COHEN has issued a cease and desist letter which, according to the Smoking Gun, states O'Connor "was not pregnant at the time that such photograph was taken," adding that the performer "takes her reputation as a good parent and responsible mother very seriously."
