NOLAN IN BREAST CANCER BATTLE

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

Former chart-topper LINDA NOLAN will have surgery to removed her cancerous breast, in bid to beat the deadly disease.

The 1970s singer, who first found fame with her sisters in pop group THE NOLANS, will undergo the mastectomy in nine days time.

She says, "I'm absolutely terrified. I keep breaking down in tears, it's a huge shock to hear the words, 'You've got cancer.'

"But I'm being really positive about it. The battle starts when I have surgery, and I will fight. Like thousands of other women.

"The mass is so big. It's about ten centimetres long so they can't just take the lump out.

"I will have to have the whole left breast removed."
