NIP/TUCK star JULIAN McMAHON struggles while shooting the plastic surgery TV drama - because he's scared of needles.
The Australian actor, 35, is desperately trying to overcome his "problem" because his character CHRISTIAN TROY performs notoriously gory procedures, including extensive surgery on a MICHAEL JACKSON lookalike and a penis extension.
McMahon says, "I'm quite squeamish when it comes to needles, which is a bit of a problem in this role.
"In the first episode, I was tied to a chair in my underwear and had fake needles stuck into my face and penis. I hated it."
