CHARLIE ROSE - NEWSMAN ROSE RECOVERING FROM HEART SURGERY

Beloved US newsman CHARLIE ROSE is recovering at home in New York after suffering heart trouble on a recent trip to Syria. The host of THE CHARLIE ROSE SHOW was travelling in late March(06) when he was side-tracked by a health crisis that led to surgery in a Paris, France, hospital and a month of recuperation. Now, back home in America, the revered interviewer, 64, admits he feels "very, very lucky". Rose admits he knew he had a weak heart but was told by doctors his health wouldn't be an issue as he planned a trip to Damascus. He says, "It just deteriorated faster than we thought." Rose hopes to return to work later this summer (06), and has assured fans of his show he will be back in a posting on his website: "I look forward to all the years of interesting guests and good conversations we have ahead of us."
