LATEST: Country star WILLIE NELSON is elated after raising $75,000 (GBP39,473) for victims of the 26 December (04) tsunami tragedy during his charity show in Texas.
Nelson and his fellow performers' show at the Austin Music Hall on Sunday (09JAN05) sold out in less than seven hours, generating $75,000 for the RED CROSS, UNICEF and CARE.
The veteran musician says, "There really are a lot of people who would like to do something. We're glad to offer those people opportunities to help out in different ways."
Performers at the concert included KELLY WILLIS and BRUCE ROBISON, the JOE ELY BAND, PATTY GRIFFIN, ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO, RAY PRICE and SPOON.
