NED BEATTY - NED BEATTY HEADS FOR THE COUNTRY

DELIVERANCE star NED BEATTY and his wife SANDY are planning to ditch city life in favour of a more serene existence in small town Minnesota.

The couple, who currently live in Los Angeles, are in the process of putting the finishing touches to their home in the north-west Minnesota town of Karlstad, which is Sandy's birthplace and has a population of less than 800.

Veteran actor Ned says, "The interesting thing about people, I think, is the more of them congregate in one place, the less value they have for each other."
