TOM GREEN - MTV PULLS THE PLUG ON TOM GREEN

Wacky comedian TOM GREEN's programme THE NEW TOM GREEN SHOW has been axed by MTV after viewing figures plummeted.

Green - who is the ex-husband of CHARLIE'S ANGELS beauty DREW BARRYMORE - won an average of 899,000 viewers in the first few weeks of the late night talk show but figures decreased to just 255,000 last week.

However, MTV were quick to point out that, although the show has ceased production, Green would be involved in new projects for the company.

Spokeswoman MARNIE BLACK says, "Tom remains a part of the MTV family and we look forward to working with him in the future."
