Former MOTLEY CRUE star MICK MARS is recovering after undergoing hip-replacement surgery.
The 53-year-old guitarist underwent the operation yesterday (05OCT04) in a bid to ease the pain he suffers from chronic degenerative illness, ankylosing spondylitis.
Those afflicted with Mars' illness suffer from a fusing together of some or all joints and bones of the spine. The affected area becomes inflamed and some of the bone may erode.
Mars' surgeon DR BRAD PENENBERG says, "I expect him to be walking with the help of a physical therapist as early as today (06OCT04)."
