British actress EMILY MORTIMER has been offered a new Hollywood role - by her father.
SIR JOHN MORTIMER, who also wrote British TV show RUMPOLE OF THE BAILEY, has just finished his latest novel and is desperate to sign up his daughter for the movie version.
The BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS star would play the lead character - a well-heeled young lady who tries to help a convict find happiness.
Mortimer says, "I've written a new book about a nice middle-class girl trying to reform a criminal.
"I'd like Emily to play the lead in a film adaptation."
