MICHAEL MOORE has been snubbed by the WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA (WGA) - following his failure to secure an ACADEMY AWARD nomination.
The documentary film-maker's controversial FAHRENHEIT 9/11 has failed to gain a nomination for Best Documentary feature film at this year's (15FEB05) WGA Awards - although he did elect not to submit his anti-GEORGE W BUSH film.
The six nominated pictures are THE HUNTING OF THE PRESIDENT, CONTROL ROOM, BRIGHT LEAVES, HOME OF THE BRAVE, IN THE REALM OF THE UNREAL and SUPER SIZE ME - which has also been nominated for a Best Documentary OSCAR.
Moore's movie failed to earn an Academy Award nomination this week (25JAN05) because he had declined to submit the film so that it could be aired on TV before the 2 November (04) election, which disqualifies the submission under Academy rules.
