MONTEL WILLIAMS - MONTEL'S MARIJUANA BATTLE

American talk show host MONTEL WILLIAMS is backing a campaign to legalise medical marijuana in New York - claiming he uses the drug to help him cope with Multiple Sclerosis.

The 47-year-old confesses he smokes marijuana every night to alleviate the pain he suffers from the disease he was diagnosed with in 1999.

But Williams, host of the MONTEL WILLIAMS SHOW, is angry he has to break the law in New York - when nine other states, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Nevada, Oregon and Washington state, permit the use of medical marijuana.

He says, "I'm breaking the law every day, and I will continue to break the law."
