MOBY has created his own nerdy getaway in upstate New York with his own observatory and Scrabble room.

The dance music superstar splashed out on the six bedroom home and recently renovated it, so it would be the perfect place for him to host his friends.

But Moby says his "country house" has become more of a solo retreat for him.

He opened the doors to his new home to MTV cameras for the network's CRIBS show, and admitted that he loves his telescope tower and his Scrabble "set-up".

Moby says, "I was always obsessed with astronomy and with telescopes, but unfortunately I could never afford one, so when I bought this house I bought this big fancy telescope and the truth is it's not very good.

"It looks nice but you can't really do all that much with it. I can sort of spy on my neighbours but they never really do anything interesting anyway.

"And I know some people on Cribs might show you their big pictures of SCARFACE, the stripper poles, and I stand here and I show you my Scrabble set-up."

Moby's minimalist five-storey pad also features a $45,000 (GBP23,700) dining table - which he bought for just $4,000 (GBP2,100) when the company went bust, a 12-person sauna, an elevator and its own rooftop observatory.
