British movie actress MIRANDA RICHARDSON becomes so alienated when she performs, she actually feels like an extra terrestrial.

The SLEEPY HOLLOW star claims acting can be so disorientating that she finds herself transmitted into a make-believe world.

Miranda, 45, says, "There is something that urges some people to perform. I've heard many actors state, 'I've always felt like I came from another planet.'

"And it's true that when you're acting, it's a bit like receiving signals from outer space. In a strange way, you are channeling into this world something from somewhere quite outside yourself. It's really not a life that's grounded in reality at all."
