MERYL STREEP - MERYL STREEP'S HAUNTED HOUSE

OSCAR-winning actress MERYL STREEP has found her guests are being treated to an extra treat whenever they visit her - encounters with ghosts.

The KRAMER VS KRAMER star admits one of her pals visited her family home in New York state's countryside, and was astonished to come across the ghostly figure, which made cow-like sounds.

She says, "I had somebody staying with us and there's been some talk about a ghost up in the house. The sound that my guest made to replicate what was living in the house was, 'Mmmmmmmmm.'

"I have to go find out. I don't know (if I believe it)... I don't know what it is. It does freak me out a little bit. It was built in 1830, the place."
