BRIAN MCKNIGHT - MCKNIGHT PLANS TO LAUNCH NEW TALK SHOW

R+B star BRIAN McKNIGHT has announced plans to embark on a new career as a late-night talk show host.

The YOU SHOULD BE MINE singer has been hosting spots on American entertainment news show EXTRA in the hopes of filling a void left by former talk show host ARSENIO HALL - and he's already getting interest from network bosses.

McKnight, who vows to continue singing, says, "I've been working as a correspondent for Extra, and the whole idea behind that is for me to have my own night-time talk show.

"UPN called last week, and we're getting a lot of calls from people wanting me to take a shot at it right now. But it really comes down to the whole creative control thing and being able to do the kind of show we want. I'm not in a hurry.

"Arsenio's been off the air for a long time, and there's a void there he left. DAVID LETTERMAN... JIMMY KIMMEL... those shows aren't for my kind of demographic. I don't watch those shows, and there are a lot of people like me who are looking for something else that would make them laugh and make them feel good about themselves before they go to bed."

McKnight says the proposed Las Vegas-based show will be "like a talk/game show with some kits... very audience-driven with the finest entertainment".
