Actor EWAN McGREGOR is convinced he can make the step up to directing, after coming up with some innovative advice on the set of STAR WARS.

Legendary Star Wars creator GEORGE LUCAS was struggling to direct youngster DANIEL LOGAN - who plays BOBA FETT - in a scene on EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES, which required him to look suspicious when he opened a door to find McGregor's OBI-WAN KENOBI character.

And the Scottish star thought of the perfect way of extracting the right reaction from Logan.

McGregor explains, "George wasn't getting that across to the kid very well, so I said to him, 'When the door opens, just imagine I've done - that you smell - this really terrible fart.'

"So the door opened and he went (crinkles nose) and it make him look really suspicious of me. It worked! It was perfect! And it saved another moment on the silver screen! That was a classic - I have to say that that was a f***ing great note I gave that kid there."
