EWAN MCGREGOR - MCGREGOR QUITS BOOZE TO SAVE FACE

Scottish actor EWAN McGREGOR has quit booze because he got fed up of criticising his fellow stars during drunken interviews.

The 32-year-old used to love drinking alcohol, but reconsidered his intake when he became loose-lipped when promoting his movies - and waking up full of regret in the morning.

McGregor, who claims he last got drunk in 2000, explains, "I couldn't be good at my work and be a good dad and be a good husband and a really good drunk all at the same time. I tried for many years to make it work, but it didn't.

"I would always drink through interviews. Just because I found that it was a way to feel less scared about them. But it always led to disaster. Slagging people off that I didn't actually want to slag off. And the next morning going, 'F***ing hell! What did I say that for?'"
