MOULIN ROUGE! hunk EWAN McGREGOR has his pick of big screen roles - but he yearns to return to TV drama ER.

The Scottish heart-throb has become a household name after high-profile roles in TRAINSPOTTING and the STAR WARS prequels, but his cameo appearance on the medical drama several seasons ago remains a highlight.

And McGregor has dropped a tantalising hint to the producer's of the show which turned GEORGE CLOONEY into a star.

He says, "It's still my favourite show and one that I would have no hesitation in returning to if asked."
