OPRAH WINFREY - MCGRAW CANCELS OPRAH TO MOURN HIS STEPFATHER'S DEATH

Country superstar TIM McGRAW was forced to cancel an appearance on OPRAH WINFREY's talk show today (24JAN06), after learning about the death of his stepfather.

HORACE SMITH died on Sunday (22JAN06) at his home in West Monroe, Louisiana.

McGraw, who grew up as TIM SMITH, thought Smith was his biological father, but later learned he was the son of baseball great TUG McGRAW, who lost his battle with brain cancer in 2004.

The singer has cancelled all commitments so he can mourn the loss of his stepfather and attend his funeral in Louisiana tomorrow (25JAN06).
