Irish pop hunk BRIAN McFADDEN has compared meeting girlfriend DELTA GOODREM's parents to hit comedy MEET THE FOCKERS - but he insists the couple are not engaged.

The REAL TO ME singer met Goodrem's mother LEA and father DENNIS when they visited his hometown of Dublin on Sunday (30JAN05) and he couldn't help but think of hapless BEN STILLER trying to keep everyone happy.

The 24-year-old says, "It was like the film Meet The Fockers. It was pretty much like the movie. It was funny."

McFadden slams reports he is engaged to the INNOCENT EYES beauty, but confesses their relationship had quickly become very serious.

He says, "It's serious."
