Hollywood hunk MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY has blasted his fellow Texans for accusing New York residents of being rude.

The SAHARA star claims many Americans misinterpret New Yorkers' attitudes because their southern lifestyle is so laid-back compared to busy city life of Big Apple dwellers.

McConaughey tells the NEW YORK POST, "New York has this stigma. People in Texas or California are like, 'No one is that nice in New York.'

"I'm like, 'Bulls**t man!' The difference is, people in New York are going somewhere."
