Former MC5 bassist MICHAEL DAVIS fractured his spine and bruised ribs in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles earlier this week (begs08MAY06). Davis was sacked from the Detroit, Michigan-based band in 1972 after he became addicted to heroin, but he currently plays with DKT - his band comprising fellow former MC5 rockers DENNIS THOMPSON and WAYNE KRAMER. Davis is expected to make a full recovery but he has been forced to cancel an appearance at JOEY RAMONE's Birthday Bash in New York City next week (19MAY06).
