MATTHEW PERRY - MATTHEW PERRY'S BOOZE NIGHTMARE

FRIENDS star MATTHEW PERRY is determined to steer clear of drink and drugs, after recently slipping back into his battle with addiction.

The actor openly admits he was downing two pints of Vodka a day whilst swallowing "handfuls" of the potent painkiller VICODIN because he was struggling to come to terms with the hit show's end.

The 34-year-old says, "(I was) out of control. The hangovers were brutal and I was sleepy and shaking at work.

"It was scary. I didn't want to die.

"But I'm grateful for how bad it got, it only made me more adamant to get better."

With help from his Friends co-stars MATT LeBLANC, DAVID SCHWIMMER, LISA KUDROW, JENNIFER ANISTON and COURTENEY COX-ARQUETTE, he went back to Alcoholics Anonymous and has vowed to beat his addiction once and for all.

When asked where he saw himself at 40, the troubled star replied, "I hope to be celebrating peace in my life, six years of sobriety - and sitting with my wife and kids watching the NBC show Geriatric Friends."
