COLDPLAY - MARTIN'S PARENTS STUNNED BY BABY ANNOUNCEMENT

COLDPLAY rocker CHRIS MARTIN's parents were stunned to hear he and girlfriend GWYNETH PALTROW are expecting a baby - because their son had neglected to tell them.

ANTHONY and ALISON MARTIN heard about the happy news after the story made headlines around the world, and admit that their CLOCKS star son had failed to phone them with the important announcement.

And the couple's unhappiness about being informed that they would be grandparents next summer (04) via the international media was evident when they were approached for comment at their home in Exeter, south England yesterday (04DEC03).

Furious Anthony told reporters, "We are the last people to know anything. It's no good talking to us."
